Your individual artwork must be your own original design in order for you to receive the highest possible grade.  You may not use any copyrighted images, such as, sports teams, bands, nor company logos etc. as your own.  Symbols such as hearts, peace signs, happy faces etc., holiday imagery, letters, or numbers must not be used as artistic subject matter or to decorate work, as they are unoriginal.

Be creative, original, and classroom appropriate!!

Holding Artwork and Replacement Assignment Policies

The teacher may hold your artwork for exhibition in a variety of art shows. Unless you are a senior, your work could be held over into the following school year, depending on the specific art shows in which we will participate.  Your cooperation is expected and your class participation grade points will be eliminated if you take your artwork home without first getting permission from the teacher.

The teacher also reserves the right to replace studio work for academic written work whenever necessary.

You may have readings and written work assigned on various occasions during the regular class time.  This type of assignment will also be given if you are not responsible about the studio projects and the materials involved in creating them. Actions such as, throwing clay, slinging paint or glazes etc., marking on surfaces other than your artwork, or using supplies in an unsafe manner will result in your studio (art creating) privileges being removed and replaced with academic work.

                                         Class Participation Grade
